Surgery for Weston

Our poor, poor Scooty has been in the hospital. He had a tiny red bump, perhaps a bite of some sort, on his left butt cheek that quickly developed into a dangerous, swift spreading infection. Within just a few hours of initially noticing the bump, he began running a fever and the affected area turned red, hot and ANGRY! Bailey and Brian took him to North Central Baptist Hospital E.R. where, unfortunately, he was sent home on antibiotics rather than immediately sent for surgery. This was yet another "bad call" on behalf of NC Baptist (we've had others in the past) and, I can assure you, that we will never, ever, EVER allow any of our family members to be treated there again. The next day, Weston was much worse and had to be taken to Methodist Children's Hospital. The staff there immediately recognized the severity of his condition and started him on IV antibiotics. The next morning, Weston underwent surgery to drain and remove the abscessed area on his sweet little buns. He remained in the hospital for a couple of days and now is home on oral antibiotics. He also has to have his surgical site packed twice per day which is very painful for him and thus very painful for those of us who have to do the packing - just SO hard to see our little Boogity in pain. Fortunately, he is on the mend and doing so much better. I thank God every single second that my precious Little Man is going to be okay!
