4 months old!

Weston's monthly "birthday" photo shoots used to be really simple......I'd prop him up, put the appropriate b-day sign next to him, make him smile and done! NOW, not so much....

Just look at that attitude, would ya??? He knows good and well what I've got planned and he has NO intentions of playing the game!

Well, perhaps he'll play along if HE gets to be in charge of the sign...

Looking tasty!

Now what are you gonna do, Granny?

I ate your silly sign!

OK, OK........you outsmarted me! Here's that sparkly 4 month smile that you wanted, Granny!
I love you!

At four months, Scooty just gets sweeter and sweeter. He has a mind of his own, no doubt, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Weston is almost always happy! He loves to be talked to, read to and played with. He loves to be outside and loves music! Weston will eat up all fruits, but spits his veggies! He thinks a cold bottle of juice is the best thing ever! Scooty Bug still awakens once during the night for a quick feeding. He can spit like a champ and can sometimes sit up for a few seconds on his own. He "talks" like crazy and laughs even more! Baths are still his favorite time of the day. He definitely recognizes people who he sees often and stares very intently at those who he doesn't. Our little Lish is growing soooo fast and brings us such joy every single day! WE LOVE YOU, WESTON SCOTT!

Drifting Off To Sleep...

Normally when Weston is tired, I just lay him down in his crib and he goes to sleep all by himself without a single peep. Today when he started winding down, however, I just wanted to hold onto him a little longer. Actually, I didn't just WANT to hold onto him longer, I actually NEEDED to hold onto him. You see, I read a story this morning that literally broke my heart. It was the story of an absolutely beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with cancer a couple of days ago. It told how an ordinary day turned into an instant nightmare for this child and her family - how one moment all was right with the world and then, in the next, everything was shattered. I don't know this family - just kinda stumbled across their story - but my heart aches for them so deeply. I simply cannot fathom what they must be going through. Watching your child suffer must be the cruelest of all pain. So, I once again thanked God for the miracle that is Weston and prayed that He will always keep my precious grandson healthy. I prayed too for the little girl and her parents. Then, I held on tightly to that "baby of mine" because I simply NEEDED to feel him close...

We started with a bottle.

Then he just looked right at me with those beautiful, crystal blue pools that are his eyes. When we lock eyes like that, it is the most incredible feeling - he clearly sees my love for him as I clearly see his love for me. Then, he slowly became drowsier and heavier as he began drifting off to sleep - completely confident that he is loved, cherished and safe.

Almost gone my little one.........................sweet dreams! Granny's gonna hold you just a little longer and tighter today, my love!

Tips From An Ol' Pro

My little Harper has REALLY been doing great with potty-training. Every hour or so, we march into the bathroom and she hops right up on her green froggy potty. Then, she'll tell me, "hear it???" as she proceeds to..........well.....you know....... Then, we have a MAJOR celebration in honor of her accomplishment! I'm SOOOOO proud of her!

Yesterday, I happened to be holding Weston when the timer went off alerting me to take Harper to use the potty. So, he just went right along with us. Since he can't sit up, I just laid him down on the carpet and helped Harper with her pullups, etc. Right after she was done, Harper flopped herself right down on the ground next to Scoots and began filling him in on proper potty usage. She told him, "Wesson, you be big girl and go on potty too?" Priceless.
