A Mother's Love!

My baby. My Bailey. My heartbeat... I'll never forget when this picture was taken - it was Bailey's first real experience with dirt and she was very unsure about this "gift" from Mother Nature - just look at that priceless expression on her sweet face! It seems like it was only yesterday, yet it was more than twenty years ago. It always has been and always will be one of my favorite memories. I adore this picture. I have had it displayed in our home since the day it was taken, along with so many other things that instantly take me back to the days when my baby was still a baby. No words could ever do justice to the intense love I feel for my children. You can try to explain it every possible way, but unless you have a child of your own, the complete depth of a mother's love is simply unattainable to the imagination. I always, always dreamed that my beautiful daughter would one day understand, and now she does....

Enter Weston Scott...

This excerpt was taken directly from my email exchange with Bailey this morning (a ritual of ours that I cherish): Here, Bailey is referring to the fact that Scooty woke up only once during the night last night rather than his usual two times.....
"When I woke up and realized that he hadn't woken up again in the night, I jumped out of bed and ran to his room and he was just snoozing away.......but I NEEDED him so bad that I took him out and brought him to our room, where I ate him up for a good 30-45 minutes. I didn't even care that I really needed to be getting ready. I just couldn't pull myself away from him! Last night I was telling him how much I loved him and he was smiling and laughing and OMG, I just burst into tears! NOTHING could have prepared me for the love you feel for one little sugar!"

Wow.......still wiping my tears. Her words are like a direct gift to my heart. I am so thankful to God for blessing Brian and Bailey with their incredible little boy. How fulfilling for me to know that now Bailey truly understands what she means to me and she has the opportunity to experience such insurmountable love.

It is my dream come true.

And The Oscar Goes To......................

Weston Scott Archer!!! Yep, over the last few weeks, Scoots has definitely been perfecting his acting skills. In fact, I'd say he's now got the whole entire drama thing down pat!

Just look at that face!!!!!!!!! This boy can work it up like an academy award winner, for sure! The hilarious part is that he will push REALLY hard to squeeze out the most pitiful sounding "Waaaa" ever..........and then, he'll stop to take a quick look around to make sure that EVERYBODY not only HEARD it, but that it has had its desired effect...............so freakin' funny. Seriously, if Weston is REALLY crying, he's got good reason (starving - ha!, poopy, tired, etc.) Most of the time, however, it's just pure drama..............oh yes, we'll be in the audience someday watching this little dude at the Oscars, no doubt. I love you my little faker!!!

Leaping Lizards!

As you already know, I am a complete pushover for babies in pajamas. There's just something about that combination that is extra innocent, sweet, cuddly and scrumptious. So, with that in mind, I have been on numerous pajama shopping sprees for Weston. He has striped ones, plain ones, turtle ones, truck ones, crane ones, monkey ones, etc. etc. Basically, if there is a pajama out there to be had, Scooty has it. This one, however, takes the cake.................his LIZARD pajamas...................!!!

I found these bad boys at Baby Gap and actually squealed with excitement right there in the middle of the store. You see, we often call Scooty our "little lizard" because, as you can see, he tends to stick out his "little lizard tongue" quite often, especially when he is really concentrating on something like his mobile, car seat toy, someone's face etc.

From the moment I saw these things, I just knew that he would be SUPREME CUTENESS wearing them and they definitely did not disappoint! So, naturally, when he arrived at my house wearing them this morning, the photo session began! At first, things went along just perfectly - all smiles, grins, coos and the like. Yippee, I was in this for the long haul!

Weston, on the other hand, sensing another "crazy Granny" moment, began to get tired of this gig pretty quickly, hence the big yawn above!

From there, things went downhill fast, as you can see. This picture just completely cracks me up. If only Weston could talk..............................or, wait a minute, maybe I don't want to know......ha!

Swimmer Scooty!

The weather on Sunday was HOT! Soooooo, we decided to head down to our neighborhood pool for Scooty's first swim! Weston LOVES to take baths, so we figured that he would like the pool - we just weren't sure how he would react to the cool temperature of the water.

Bailey, Brian and Weston.....such a beautiful family!

Scooty Bug sitting with his already skinny Mommy!

Easing Weston in on the shallow end first!

Swimming with Daddy and having such fun!!!

Weston was TOTALLY relaxed in the water and never fussed for a single second. He did work that noonie of his the entire time though!

He did NOT like the sun shining in his eyes so he kept his beautiful blues closed most of the time.

Ready to take a rest, but had oh so much fun!

Just look at that precious little naked baby!!!! That swimming wore Weston out so here I am holding him while Mommy ran back to the house to get him some dry clothes.

Ahhhhhhh..............all dry and ready to soak up some rays!

Oops! Can't forgot Weston's adorable little sun hat! Goodness is he ever precious!

Back at Granny's having a quick "chat" with Mommy before heading home. Thanks for spending the weekend with us, Scooty Bug!!! We always love having you!!!

Weston And His Grandpa!

Scooty Bug got to stay with us all weekend while Bailey and Brian went to a friend's wedding in Bulverde - yippee!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling too well, so I couldn't go on my normal picture-taking rampage as I would have liked. Plus, we were also watching B & B's dogs, Tula & Mylo, bringing the grand total of hounds in our house to 8 - YIKES! The fact that I was already feeling under the weather combined with the total, out-of-control craziness of 8 dogs under one roof made me one very T-I-R-E-D Granny!!! So, Grandpa got up with Weston on Sunday morning and held down the fort so that I could get some extra, much needed
zzzzzzzzzzzzz's. I did manage to get a few adorable pics once I got up to make breakfast.

This is how I found precious Weston when I walked out of my bedroom. Grandpa had worn him out with a walk and then carefully snuggled him up in his bouncer (just like I do!) for a little cat nap. Soooo sweet! I love the way that he remembered to give Scooty his noonie and gently covered him up so he wouldn't catch cold!

Weston was sooooo crashed out that it didn't take long for his noonie to pop out while he just kept right on snoozing!

After breakfast, Scoots was out the door with Grandpa for mowing lessons!!! It is so cute to watch the two of them together. James loves being a Grandpa and can't wait to teach Weston all kinds of new things! I love those two handsome guys!!

Whatcha Lookin' At, Scooty????

It's a bird.....it's a plane.......it's Scooty Bug's mobile!!!! Weston has a mobile that hangs over his crib which he totally adores! He gets so excited when I lay him down and turn the music on.

First he just stares and stares...

And then he will break out into one of his award-winning smiles!

Until he just starts chatting away!!! I absolutely LOVE hearing him "talk" and could listen to that sweet voice of his forever. It totally consumes my heart!

Two Months of Pure Joy!

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! Another four weeks have passed and Weston has gone from this...

To this...

And now this!!!

It's like time is moving at some crazy warp speed!!!!! Somebody slow things down!!!!!!!!!!

This precious, precious munchkin of ours has changed so much already! This past month, Weston has blessed us in lots and lots of amazing ways! He smiles so freely now, which is just the BEST! He is also "talking" more and more with his cute little voice. I can tell that he just wants to tell me soooooo many things but hasn't quite figured out how to get it all out yet! He also totally responds to my voice which just melts me. Scooty still loves bath time and definitely loves to eat! He has settled into a very predictable daily routine and is just such an all around good baby. He hardly ever cries but, when he does, you better believe that this Granny comes running! Weston makes our entire family happy every single day. He is the ULTIMATE treasure. I love you my adorable Scooty Bug! Thanks for making the past two months of my life the best ever!

Boston Warner Busby!

This afternoon, our dear friends, Jarrod & Jessica were blessed with their new son, Boston Warner Busby. He weighed in at 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 in. long. He is beautiful and we are so glad that he is finally here!

Jessica with sweet little Boston.

We know that Weston and Boston will be the best of friends. Welcome to the world, Boston! We love you already!

Confession!

My name is Granny, and I'm a shopaholic........Well, they do say that admitting that you have a problem is the first step toward recovery, right????? The thing is, however, that I have absolutely NO intentions of fixing this little, or maybe not so little, shopping habit of mine. When I found out that my sweet Weston was going to be a boy, I figured that my wallet couldn't possibly be in all THAT much trouble because, I mean, he's a boy and boy stuff is kind of boring and yucky............NOT! There's almost not a day go by that I don't hunt down and discover something (or several somethings) for Scooty that are just over the top, irresistibly, gotta-have-it precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take this little outfit, for example. I mean, seriously, a herd of stampeding, wild horses couldn't have kept me from buying these adorable camo cargo shorts. And the shirt????? It has a monster truck on it...........every little boy needs a monster truck shirt, right???????????????? If only I could have just stopped there. However, then I caught sight of some unbelievably scrumptious little athletic shorts with a matching top, a soccer shirt cuz we miss Uncle Braydon while he's in Arkansas, a must-have 4th of July onesie, another little cutie patootie outfit, some new noonies with holders.......AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I just ADORE my Scooty Bug more every single second and want him to have the world!!!!!!!!!! Poor, poor wallet. hee hee

Nine Hens And One Veeeery Precious Rooster!

This past weekend, Bailey, Scoots and I loaded up and headed out for the first of what we hope becomes many hen parties thrown by "Auntie" Neva! Neva turns 48 tomorrow, and we went to her parent's cabin in Fredericksburg to celebrate her special day! According to the invitation (which was downright precious, by the way) this was a girl's only event, hence calling it a hen party. However, based on his pure deluxe cuteness, it was decided that our precious, little rooster could tag along.

This GORGEOUS place belongs to Neva's parents. I can't even begin to tell you how peaceful and serene it was to sit out on the front porch and just "be". The view was amazing!

Weston was treated to his first close-up view of a cow! It was so funny to see his face when he finally caught sight of this big girl! She and her three other friends are all expecting new calves any day! Neva's parents also have some chickens and a rooster who greeted us each morning with a big "cocka-doodle-doo"! I loved that!

We also saw wild turkeys and lots of deer.

Here is a great shot of some of the younger hens - Bailey, Nicki, Stevie and Margie!

Here is sweet Weston with his Grandma Beverly - aka Grandma BiBi! I had so much fun getting to spend time with Beverly. Weston's Granny and Grandma BiBi teamed up to almost become Pictionary champions until "mean" ol' Mommy and Cathy passed us up for the win! We'll get em' next time!

Here is Scooty Bug "talking" to Cathy. She was just dying to get her hands on Weston and can't wait for a grandbaby of her own! Her daughter, Margie, is getting married in about a year so maybe she won't have to wait too much longer! I also loved spending time with Cathy, just hanging out and hearing about all of the wedding plans.

And, of course, this is Weston with his "Auntie" Neva, the birthday girl! I just ALWAYS love to spend time with Neva. We have been friends for soooooooooooooo long and I never, ever, EVER tire of her company. We can make each other laugh like crazy. Plus, Neva always throws the very best parties! I felt so privileged to be one of the hens!

Weston was such a good sport putting up with all of us girls. We would go from sunup to WAAAAAAY past sundown each day and he would just go with the flow! Here he is all cuddled up in his jammies and ready for bed so that all the hens could party on! We had a GREAT time sipping cocktails, eating all sorts of bad for you foods, playing lots and lots of fun games and talking until we literally gave out!

Here's Weston sitting in his bouncy chair just listening to all the "hen cluck"! I'm sure he was storing all kinds of information to go home and report to his Daddy!

This is the result of one loooooong, hoooooooot shopping trip to Trade Days in Fredericksburg! Weston definitely didn't "get" the attraction, but all of us hens were thrilled to find fun stuff!

Feeling sooooooooooooooooooo much better to be back at the cabin and to have a nice, cool bath! That smile makes my heart explode!

And, this is how we all felt at the close of our amazing weekend - POOPED, but oh so glad to have had such fun together. Thanks for everything, Neva - we love you sooooo much! And, thanks to Neva's Mom and Dad for so graciously welcoming all of us to your beautiful home. We can't wait to come back!!!

The Renegade Girls!

Bailey absolutely LOVES her job at Renegade Well Services Ltd. and REALLY loves all of the fun gals who she works with. Naturally, they all watched as Bailey's pregnancy progressed and were all very excited to meet Mr. Weston! Here he is with his mini harem - ha!

That's Jessi, Tina and Leann along with Bailey and Scoots!

Tina is extra special to me because I consider her as kind of a "second Mom" to Bailey. It gave me HUGE peace of mind to know that Tina was watching over Bailey at work every day during her pregnancy when I couldn't be with her. Thanks SOOOOOOO much, Tina. I'm so glad that you and Bailey are friends and am happy to share my Scooty Bug with you!
