Everybody Just Stay Calm..........

"No, nothing terrible has happened. Yes, we are all just fine. No, Weston is not sick. " This is just a mere sampling of the answers that I have given to the endless stream of phone calls, emails etc. that I have encountered due to the fact that I haven't put a new post on Lishy's blog in a couple of days. Friends and family are becoming distraught - downright desperate, I kid you not. It's like a mass epidemic of serious, serious Scooty withdrawals. hee hee...............I actually can't blame all of ya one little bit! Sooooo, here's a remedy for what ails ya.....our "Deliciou Licious" - precious as always! The weekend simply got away from me and Mondays are just CrAzY around here. I'll try not to let it happen again. Enjoy!

Can You Feel It???

That cool, crisp hint of fall that we've had the past couple of mornings.............ahhhhhhhhh. That teasy, breezy change in the air just makes my heart sing, I tell ya. The mere thought of fall makes this Granny's heart swoon..........pumpkins, colored leaves, gourds, acorns, scarecrows.......I la la la love it all! I know August isn't quite over yet, but it's all I can do not to rush up into the attic and swoop down on all of my ever so adorable fall stuff. It is my FAVORITE time of year for decorating and I have dozens of boxes just calling my name......I can hear them! THIS year, however, I know EXACTLY what my favorite thing about fall is going to be......................
THIS LITTLE GUY!

Crisp, fall mornings mean extra-cuddly, long-sleeved Lishy.....just LOOK AT HIM in those adorable fall colors................delicious!

I just USED to think that "actual" pumpkins were the GREATEST thing about fall.................until THIS sweet pumpkin arrived!!!!!! Sooooooooooooooo can't wait for all the fun things you and Granny are going to get to do together this season my little snooky!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Five Months Already!

Yep, our sweet Scooty Bug is five months old today - unbelievable how quickly the time has passed since he entered our lives. He is such a "scoober" and fills our days with endless joy!

We've had to change the "usual" monthly birthday prop from paper to a big ol' chalkboard so that Weston can't destroy it!

He is such an inquisitive little thing and wants to get his hands on EVERYTHING!

He is also rapidly losing patience with my never-ending daily "photo takes" - gone are the days of simply snapping away while little Scoots just hung out with no other choice but to accept it.....hence the beginning of the fit that you see brewing below:

Now he can go from mildly irritated to full-blown teed off in a matter of seconds - whew!
We always knew he was advanced for his age so, look out terrible twos..............here he comes!

Luckily, Grandpa is still home with his knee injury and could "save" our Little Licious from this mean ol', demanding picture-taking Granny of his!

We adore you so much Weston and love all of the changes that this month has brought. You are even more smiley than ever and love to go to everyone who you know. Strange places are starting to make you a bit wary, but you are fine as long as you see familiar faces. All kinds of new foods have entered the scene: you love to try everything that we eat, especially pancakes, waffles and ice cream! You freely give slobbery, open-mouth kisses which are DELICIOUS! And, best of all, you love to look right at us, cup our faces in your sweet hands and treat us to your beautiful smiles.
YOU ARE OUR GREATEST GIFT!!!

How Bout' Them Cowboys!

We are SOOOOO excited that FOOTBALL season is here again! Just take a peek at this ultra adorable Dallas Cowboys jacket that I found for Lishy today - LOOOOOOVE it!

No doubt we have the CUTEST cowboy fan in the entire world! I love you, my "littlest" football man!

Happy Birthday, "Auntie" Robin!

Today is a very special day! It is Weston's "Auntie" Robin's 44th birthday! Robin is a VERY dear friend of our family and has been FOREVER! We love her so much and wish her a super happy day!

Please come see me soon, "Auntie" Robin!

How can you possibly resist those eyes???

Whew! Gotta take pictures QUICKLY these days or else Scooty eats the props!!!

Scooty's Newest Digs!

Here's my precious Weston Scott!!! I'm always soooooo happy to see him on Monday mornings. Even when I've gotten to spend time with him over the weekend, I still can't wait to have him back each Monday. Just look at his happy little face.....how could I not be thrilled to see him???!!!

This weekend, I got Weston something ...yes, again........

A second, beautiful crib - THIS one, in mine and Grandpa's room!

Since Lishy's other crib is in the room where all of the daycare kiddos best like to play, I decided to get him a second one so that if he wants to nap during the same time that the other children are up and playing, I can just put him in his new crib where he won't be disturbed. In this picture, you can see our sweet Shiner Shea checking out Weston's new hangout!

Scooty's new crib matches our bedroom furniture perfectly and we just love it! It will be great for those nights when Weston sleeps over with Granny and Grandpa and we just hate putting him "way far away" in his other room. From the look on his face, Scooty loves it too!!!!!!!

Boston & Weston

Scooty's good buddy, Boston, came over to stay with us today! It was really funny to watch the two of them checking each other out "real serious like" at first, and then breaking into gorgeous grins!
We know they are going to be the best of friends!

What A Change!

This is what we saw just a few short months ago whenever WE would peek inside of Scooty's crib...

And, now look at who can peek out at US!!!

We love you, our BIG, STRONG BOY!!!!!!

Gimpy Grandpa Update!

Well, Gimpy Grandpa got a better than usual report at the doctor today. The knee is FINALLY healing! He is still on IV Therapy and is still on the wound vac, but - slowly but surely - the knee is closing from the inside out. Hopefully, this will be his last week on both the IV and the vac. Scooty and his Grandpa are keeping their fingers crossed!!!

Dear Great-Grandpa Gorman...

We are so very sorry that you fell and broke your hip. We are relieved to hear that your surgery went well and we hope you are good as new super soon! We love you!

I COULD EAT THIS BABY WHOLE!!!

Enough said!

Those Beautiful Blues!

Scooty Bug's eyes are the most incredible shade of blue, and they literally sparkle every time he flashes us one of his amazingly gorgeous grins! Even though this picture came out a little bit blurry, I still absolutely love it because I think it really captures the "twinkle of curiosity" that just shines from those BEAUTIFUL eyes of his!

YOU MELT ME, MR. LICIOUS!

Our Little Monkey!

Check this out! After Weston's bath this morning, I dressed him one of my favorite of his onesies - his monkey onesie from Gymboree. Later, when I put him into his crib to play with his toys, I realized that the monkeys on his clothes exactly match the monkeys on one of the Aden + Anais blankets that I bought him last week! SO CUTE!

WE LOVE YOU, MIGHTY MONKEY MAN!

4 month well check-up!

Despite my worries about him getting shots, Scooty Bug survived his four month well check-up and passed all of his mile markers with flying colors!!!!!! We had absolutely NO doubt that he would!

Our scrumptious little man is 4 months and 20 days old today and weighed in at 20.8 lbs. and measured 26 1/2 in. That puts him off the charts for his weight and in the 90th %ile for his height - "just perfect" as Dr. Hayward says! What more could we possibly ask for??? Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this little boy!!!! Dr. Hayward was most impressed with Lishy's motor skills and his ability to sit up all by his little ol' self!!! YIPPEE FOR LICIOUS!

Mornings Just Aren't The Same....

without my precious Scooty Bug. This morning, I was literally moping around because Scoots wasn't coming to see me. Bailey was "keeping" him today because he has a checkup with his pediatrician and will be getting his second round of immunizations. I'm used to him not being here on weekend mornings, of course, but today is FRIDAY! I know, I know, crazy as it seems, I just missed him..........so much. Most people would probably be happy for the break, but not me - that baby boy takes my breath away every single moment that we are together! He is just THAT incredible!

But, lo and behold, who should walk through my front door about 9:30 a.m. - Bailey and LISH!!! She must have known that I was dying because she swung by here before Weston's appt. just so that I could eat him up - and boy did I ever!!! Pure morning deliciousness that baby is! Ah, I feel soooo much better now.....except for the awful thought that Scoots is going to get all those nasty shots today. I know they are important but that doesn't make me like them - at all. Stay strong, my sweet boy, and show those mean ol' shots whose boss! I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!!

I'm Making A Prediction...

that Weston is going to be a LEFTIE! No matter what I give him, or how I position it in front of him, he ALWAYS grabs for it with his left hand. And, if he does have something in his right hand, Scooty will transfer it over to his left. It will be fun to see if my prediction sticks! Righty, Lefty, or Ambidextrous...........it won't matter to me - I LOVE YOU, LICIOUS!

Just Because....

He is sooooo stinkin' cute, I just couldn't resist posting these two pictures that I just took of my Scooty Bug. There's no special story behind them, or anything like that, I am just blown away EVERY SINGLE DAY by the OFF THE CHARTS preciousness of this little man! He is such a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, happy stinker!!!! My love for him grows deeper with each passing second!!!

What's That?

Is it a ghost??? Or perhaps a sheik???
NO! It's just Scooty Bug deliciously swaddled up in one of his new blankets!

If you've never seen a blanket like this, then by all means let me introduce you to these treats!
They are made by Aden + Anais and are the most incredible baby blankets EVER! They are so soft, so breathable, so affordable and just so dang MUST HAVE!!! I was first introduced to Aden + Anais products from my friend, Gail - soon to be Reed's Mom! At the time she told me about them, they were only available online and in specialty stores. But now.............drum roll please....
they are available at TARGET! Be still my heart - I LOVE TARGET! They come in a pack of 4 and run $29.99 - That's just $7.50 per blanket and they are SOOOO worth it! They come in both girl and boy varieties. The package I got for Lish included one plain white one (my fave), one with monkeys on it, one with elephants on it and one with lions on it. All are SWEET, but I just have a thing for white. The blankets are very generously sized (44"x44" of amazing 100% cotton muslin) so they are perfect for swaddling, tummy time, floor play or whatever. As you know, Scoots is totally attached to his yellow blankie (see previous posts) and never really "took" to any others - until I found these babies!!! Now I can have the yellow blanket in the laundry without worrying about Lish not having a blanket he likes. Thanks for the tip, Gail. WE LOVE OUR ADEN + ANAIS TREASURES!!!

A Tried....and Failed Bath Technique!

Weston's baths are in a bit of a transitional phase right now.....He's too big for the baby bathtub with the infant insert but still not sitting up on his own quite well enough to keep his balance in a slick tub. And I, being the aging Granny that I am (ha!), have creaky knees and an aching back which makes it hard for me to stoop waaaaaay down at bathtub level to hang on to a slippery slidey Scooty Bug......at least if I want to be able to get back up again.......say like sometime in the next year or so!

So.......I decided that I would try putting Weston into his bumbo seat in the BIG bathtub. Did it work???? Not so much. As you can see from the pictures, one side of the chair kept floating up, keeping poor Licious in a perpetual tipped over position. Ugh. I'm gonna have to hunt for one of those bath ring thingamajigs. I know they make those guys!

Regardless of what bath technique we are using, Scooty Bug ALWAYS looks totally, totally,
TOTALLY precious in his bath and smells WONDERFUL when he gets out! I LOVE IT!

Way To Go, Grandpa!

As I've posted, James has gotten to spend alot more time with Weston since he's been home with his knee injury. And, I gotta tell ya, he's becoming quite the pro! Just take a look at this......

He's a real natural............well, sort of. When I handed a tired Weston to him this morning, James said to me "hand me that round brown pillow from the other couch - using that gives me fake boobs and Weston likes to sleep on those." I almost cried laughing. Well, as you can see, his technique, as twisted as it may be, was definitely effective! Within seconds, Weston was all snuggled up, with the brown pillow between him and his Grandpa, fast asleep.......whatever works, I say! Nighty-night my precious Scoots!

Thanks, "Uncle" Jim!

Our very special neighbor, aka "Uncle" Jim went to Washington D.C. for business last week and brought home this adorable "Future President" onesie for Weston - HOW COOL IS THAT?????

Naturally, Scoots looks COMPLETELY precious in his new duds!

Thanks SO much, "Uncle" Jim! It was incredibly sweet of you to think of our adorable little Licious while you were away! "Uncle" Jim also brought a onesie for Weston's good buddy, Boston, and his future good buddy and "Uncle" Jim's grandson, Reed! (Reed isn't due until November). WE LOVE YOU, JIM!!!

Mornings with Lishy!

Scooty Bug is so UNBELIEVABLY scrumptious, especially when he is in his pajamas, that I just had to post a whole bunch of pictures that I took this morning. I. Could. Eat. This. Baby. Up!
Obviously, so could his Grandpa!

I totally adore these boys of mine!

Grandpa doing his early morning IV therapy while watching cartoons with Lish. I just love the way that Grandpa is holding Scooty's little hand - SO SWEET!

Scooty and Spritey watching Nick Jr. Just ignore that red eyeball on Sprite. She may LOOK like she's a ferocious beast, but she would NEVER hurt our precious baby. Those spooky eyes of hers are just the result of this serious rookie photographer!

Babies just don't come any cuter than Weston - our little guy is IRRESISTIBLE!

YOU, little happy man, make our mornings soooo special! WE LOVE YOU, WESTON SCOTT!
