We had dinner at Rio Mambo to celebrate Weston's birthday!
For months, Bailey and I had been going back and forth trying to decide if a big birthday bash was the thing to do for Scooty's special day or rather just something very simple. We opted for the simple route, since Scoots would be too young to really "get" the concept of a birthday party anyway. I'm so glad we made that choice, because I think his birthday was just PERFECT!!!
Rio Mambo is our "go to place" for special family events here in Ft. Worth. In San Antonio, it was always Alamo Cafe and we hope to make that our "go to place" again soon! Rio Mambo, however, is delicious and has certainly been the setting for many a good time!
Mommy & Weston
Uncle Brenner & his "Budzy"
Sadly, Uncle Braydon and Chloe both had to work - we missed them!
The Archers!
Bean being silly imitating his Grandpa.
Seated at the restaurant and ready for chow!
Pondering the menu!
Taking a shy sneak peek at other diners!
Such a happy Birthday Boy!
Our professional chip eater - seriously, the child only has 3.5 teeth - all on bottom, yet can still eat anything that isn't nailed down. Just look at the precise way he holds that chip and very carefully bites off a small piece - love it!
Oh yeah, baby.......bring on the tortillas!
Oops......hold up just one little second - can't forget the queso!
Yet again displaying his brilliance - the boy is a genius at tortilla dipping!
All the waiters singing "Happy Birthday". Weston thought it was SO fun!
HELLO birthday cake!
Granny whispering lots and lots of birthday wishes and I love yous!
Let's just ignore Granny's thinning hair, shall we??? For those of you who know my parents, you know that my hair doesn't stand a chance at being lush. Boo.
After dinner, it was off to Scooty's house to shoot a few hoops before present time!
Weston is a natural - he waltzes right up to the basketball goal and tosses the ball right into the basket. LOOK OUT, Tim Duncan!
Next, it was time for gifts. Mommy wanted jammies for Weston so we got him lots of those.
Bailey is obviously thrilled, but you can clearly see Scooty's typical "kid response" to clothes - BORING! He is desperately trying to slide out of Bailey's lap and head back to his basketball game with Uncle Brenner! So funny.
This particular pair of jammies did manage to catch Lishy's attention because there are sport balls all over them. He is pointing to a basketball. The boy is obsessed with anything sports related. Typical.
This extra fun box came from Weston's sweet Auntie Sharon, Auntie Cindy and cousins Kyndal and Katie! Weston loved al of the colorful stickers and couldn't wait to see what was inside!
This microphone is one of the MANY fun goodies in the box! Brian actually had the best time with it - or maybe Grandpa - both were acting like sports announcers etc.
Crazy boys.
Finally, Weston gets a turn...
Weston also got LOTS of sports balls, bubbles, a bathing suit and swim shirt, more jammies - THANKS SO MUCH, AUNT SHARON!
YIPPEE!!!! A new car from Grandpa & Granny!
Weson's very first Cozy Coupe!
Too bad Daddy, Mommy, Grandpa & Granny all had a few too many birthday cocktails to even THINK about trying to assemble that puppy - ha!
Right back to the sport balls.......this one is a mini basketball from Aunt Sharon!
And now.....soccer!
Finally.............MORE CAKE!
This one was full of chocolate ice cream goodness!
Another round of "Happy Birthday to You!!!"
Patiently waiting to dig in (notice the frosting all over his shorts!)
Yummy! Definitely worth the wait!
All done!
See ya! Can't wait to do this birthday gig thing again next year!
