All Clean & Ready For Another Big Day1

As mentioned in my previous post, Scoots can be quite the Messy Marvin when he wakes up in the morning and then feeds himself breakfast. Soooo, a bath was definitely in order!

As always, he loved it!

After his bath, it was time for Scooty Bug to brush his teeth.....or should I say gums!

Lish is a multi-tasker like his Granny.........gum brushing and hair brushing at the same time!

What talent!!!

And, just like that, he looks PRECIOUS and is ready for another day with his Granny!

Mercy, What A Mess!

Based on these shots, I think we're gonna have to change Weston's nickname from Scooty Bug to Pigpen.........seriously...just LOOK at this messy boy!

First of all, Lish is going through the "I want to feed myself" phase. He literally FREAKS out if anyone tries to spoon/fork feed him in any way. It has to be HIS way. Period. And his way means lots and lots and LOTS of messes.....as you can plainly see. Banana yogurt up the nose!

Then there is his recently developed case of bed head. When he wakes up in the morning or wakes up from his naps, those little peacock feathers of his stick out in every direction imaginable! Combined with his messy yogurt face, it's a pretty funny scene indeed!
Oh well, nothing a quick bath won't cure!

Winter - Where Are You????

No, this post wasn't put in out of order. It really is winter. Yes, I realize that Scoot Root is in shorts & short sleeves and has bare feet while outside, but......it was darn near 80 degrees yesterday - totally INSANE for this time of year. Last year around this day, we had SNOW!!!

I think ol' Mother Nature is very confused...

Well, at least it made for a nice day to take a walk.

And, best of all, Uncle Braydon was here for a visit so he joined us!

I love my two big boys!

I Highly Recommend This Toy!

It's rare that I rave about a particular toy, but, this past weekend, I picked up a toy for Weston that I think is AWESOME! It is a set of four blocks - blue, red, green and yellow. Each block is made of a soft leather and is filled with items that correspond in color. Soooooo,

the yellow block, for example, opens up and contains a soft, cloth yellow chick, a leather yellow ball, a leather yellow crayon and a leather yellow banana. Each toy is so cute and soooo soft! These blocks are perfect for teaching colors, sorting, stacking etc. Although I got them at a garage sale (gotta LUV garage sales), they come from Lakeshore Learning Store and I think they are not only fun for kids, but a GREAT learning tool.

Scoots & Shiner

First of all, if I haven't mentioned it yet today..........

I LOVE THIS BABY!!!!

I also love how completely comfortable Weston is around dogs....not that he has much choice between our 6 dogs and his 2 dogs......but I still love it!

I adore these pictures of Scooty Bug and Shiner Shea. Shiner is one BIG dog, but her size doesn't faze Weston one little bit. He just loves her.

The sun was really shining into the playroom in this pic - sunlight and any sort of reflection are Shiner's very favorite things... that goofy dog will follow a sun spot ANYWHERE and would seriously choose her beloved flashlight even over a juicy T-bone steak!

Crossing My Fingers, But I Really Do Think He Is On The Mend!

So, I know I've said it before, but THIS time, I feel really confident that our sweet Bean Sprout is truly on the mend from his mean ol' double ear infection.

Just look at his delicious smile!

After determining that he is allergic to amoxicillin and starting him on a different antibiotic, Weston is definitely making a change for the better! He slept well last night - a first in a LONG time and napped great this morning. Yippee!

His buddies sure have missed his smiley face!

That grin makes my heart sing!

The Stockings Were Hung By The Chimney With Care...

It makes me positively giddy to see this sweet stocking hanging from our fireplace. As you can see, it belongs to my precious Weston. I had SO much fun picking it out just for him and think it turned out so cute!!! WOO HOO for Weston's first Christmas!!!

I Do NOT Like Amoxicillin!

No pictures - just a quick post about Scoots. Remember how he was doing better??? Well, that was short-lived. He ended up having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin and broke out in what is called an "amoxicillin rash". It normally occurs about 5-7 days after the antibiotic is started. I wish he had never even been put on that particular medication, because it never, ever worked on my kiddos and rarely works on most others. Needless to say, the doc took Weston off of the amoxil and, because his ears are still infected, he is now on omnicef - a much more potent drug so hopefully this one will get in there and knock out the ear infection for good!

FINALLY.......my Scooty Bug REALLY returns!

As I mentioned in a previous post, Scoots was out for a few days with a double ear infection. Well, he made a "return appearance" on Wednesday, but still wasn't himself. Then, yesterday, I actually had to call Bailey to come and get him because he was ROT! 100% Rot, I tell you. The problem was that I didn't know if he was being such a little rat because he was still feeling poorly or if he had just been "ruined" by his days at home with Mommy and Daddy......hee hee. So, Bailey came and got the little turkey and took him home around 10ish. And, lo & behold, he slept nearly the ENTIRE day for her - so, quite obviously, his little body just needed a bit more recovery time. And, today, I am thrilled to say that HE IS BACK!!!! And I mean, REALLY BACK!!! This is the first day in more than a week that I can truly see my Pooky Poo shining in the eyes that are looking back at me! Yes, he still has a cough and blows an occasional snot bubble or two, but my spunky, sweet baby has returned........ahhhhhh, my heart can rest......

With Boogity back in full swing, we decided to build us a zoo! Might as well - we live in one anyway so what's a little more zooish stuff gonna hurt???

Weston had a blast! We played with all of the little animals for nearly an hour. We built fences around the zebras, mountains for the bears, a pasture for the cows and pigs etc. etc. etc. The kids loved it and I loved it that Weston had the ol' skip back in his step!

Just look at my yummy little cheese ball - such a happy little man! Ummm....the brown speckles on his shirt are from the chocolate oatmeal chippers cookies that he inhaled right before we started building.......yep, that's my boy!

He would get so excited - waving his hands around and laughing until he practically fell over!

I've never been so happy to see that tongue of his swishin' around!

I LOVE YOU MY BEAN SPROUT!!! GRANNY IS SO RELIEVED THAT YOU ARE YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look What We Got!!!

Last night, my friend Gail (Reed's Mom) gave me the most precious ornament in honor of my sweet Scooty Bug's very first Christmas! It's a tiny bird delicately stitched with the words "Baby's First Christmas". He has a little felt wing and a little felt beak and is just adorable!

I LOVE IT!

I think Lishy loves it too! He held onto it all morning - I think he just knew how special it is to his Granny!

Snotty Scooty...

Here's my sweet Bean Sprout...if you look really close, you'll see the telltale signs of his lingering cold....yep, a snotty nose. My poor little Boogity got sick last week and didn't get to stay with me Thursday, Friday or Monday. He had a double ear infection - his first! After a couple of days on antibiotics, he is doing much better now, thankfully!

Even though his Mommy and Daddy spoiled him ROTTEN while he was out, I'm sure glad to have him back! I LOVE YOU, JELLYBEAN!

ICE!

This past weekend, our entire family attended the Gaylord's Ice Exhibit featuring Charles Schulz's Peanuts Gang! First of all, the Gaylord Hotel is unbelievably beautiful!!! The hotel alone would have been worth our trip! However, the ice exhibit was just off the charts awesome! It is truly something that pictures simply can't convey....just AMAZING! Every single bit of the exhibit is carved from ice. The sculptors are from China, which is where the idea for the exhibit originated. The temperature inside of the ice tent was a chilly 9 degrees fahrenheit. Brrrrrrr! James, Brian, Bailey, Weston, Braydon, Chloe, Brenner, Jarrod, Jessica, Boston and I were so excited and had so much fun!
