ICE!

This past weekend, our entire family attended the Gaylord's Ice Exhibit featuring Charles Schulz's Peanuts Gang! First of all, the Gaylord Hotel is unbelievably beautiful!!! The hotel alone would have been worth our trip! However, the ice exhibit was just off the charts awesome! It is truly something that pictures simply can't convey....just AMAZING! Every single bit of the exhibit is carved from ice. The sculptors are from China, which is where the idea for the exhibit originated. The temperature inside of the ice tent was a chilly 9 degrees fahrenheit. Brrrrrrr! James, Brian, Bailey, Weston, Braydon, Chloe, Brenner, Jarrod, Jessica, Boston and I were so excited and had so much fun!

Here's our precious Scooty Bug w/Daddy & Mommy before we entered "the frozen tundra"!

Before we went into the ice tent, we saw a really interesting film about how the exhibit was made.

This cutie patootie snowman greeted us as we all received special parkas to wear inside the tent.

Decked out and ready to go!

Boston was NOT a happy camper while waiting in line!

Here is Grandpa just inside the ice tent. From here on out, EVERYTHING is made of ice - soooooooooo STUNNING!

Snoopy with a big pile of ice bones!

Charlie Brown & Linus!

Brian & Lishy Loo!

The Archers!

Grandpa & Granny!

Uncle Braydon & Chloe!

Brian & his Mini-Me!

"Short, little Granny" with TALL Uncle Brenner!

Lucy giving out psychiatric advice!

Thick, carved blocks of ice were the platform for everything.

Gotta love Snoopy!

Sally! (at least I think)

This ice archway was incredible!

Beautifully colored ice!

Another view of an archway.

Rock Star Snoopy!

Rerun!

Sally! (I'm sure about this one.)

Jess & Granny - you can tell by the red color of my nose just how cold it was!

Yet another cool archway leading to another room in the exhibit.

Silly Uncle Brenner - DON'T GET YOUR TONGUE STUCK ON THE ICE!

We knew that Grandpa would be tall enough to ride the ice slides, but we weren't so sure about "shorty" Jess - good thing she made the cutoff!

View from the top of the ice slides - SOOOOO FUN TO RIDE!

Uncle Brenner right before he slid down - no, his hair isn't dyed red - just a reflection from one of the lights.

Some beautiful ice trees.

Grandpa & Charlie Brown w/his famous Christmas tree!

Granny & Linus w/his blankie!

Jess w/more beautifully colored trees!

Linus doing his story of the Christ Child. So great.

Uh Oh.....Grandpa's in the doghouse..............!

Snoopy's hangout!

Snoopy belting out some Christmas tunes!

Marcy!

Pig Pen!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN!

Grandpa & Uncle Brenner in the ice cave on the way out of the exhibit.
Open your eyes, silly Grandpa!

More ice cave - I loved it in there!

This picture just does NOT do justice to the magnificence of this setup - a HUGE nativity scene with Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, the 3 Wisemen, Shepherds, Animals etc. ALL carved out of ice.
This scene gave me the chills - and NOT from the cold temps!
It was truly a sight to behold.
Out of the tent and thawing out in the warm hotel.
Such cute little elves!
I had a GREAT time spending the day with you, Boogity Bean and LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
